South African former batsman Gulam Bodi has been sentenced to 5 years in prison. He has been sentenced this punishment because of spot fixing happened in 2015.
After the Hansie Cronje’s match fixing incident, South Africa introduced a Corruption Act in 2004. Bodi is the first player who got imprisonment after the act was created. He played 2 one-days and 1 T-20 international matches. After the accusations in 2015 he has been banned from international cricket for 20 years by South African cricket board.
He retired from the international cricket and started a new job as a commentator. Even after this, he has done the spot fixing. He found guilty in 2018 and the court sentenced him with 5 years of imprisonment.
